Unexpected space between volume and page number(s) when no issue is listed (Chicago style)

I recently encountered an example where CSL is adding an unexpected space between volume number and page(s) for journal articles.

Chicago rule 15.48 says that there should be no space between the volume number and page(s) when no issue or month/season is present:

When there is no issue number, and where no month or season is recorded, the page number reference follows the volume number, separated by a colon and with no intervening space.

However, it looks like CSL automatically puts a space here:

I’ve just made a PR #7042。Also note that we can’t check if an issued date has a month part with CSL v1.0.2 (though CSL-M has a has-to-month-or-season extension).
