publishing companies and CSL styles

Have there been any approaches to large publishing hoses to get them
to author “official” versions of their styles in CSL?

It could help a lot with fracturing CSL development.

We could have an “Official Styles” section of citationstyles.org

I know people at Springer, Nature and am getting to know more people
at Elsevier. At Mendeley we also have good contacts with people at
Wiley and the Royal Society Publishing. I could get in touch with them
with this idea if you like.

I do.

I think there’s been a chicken-and-egg issue likely, but perhaps as
CSL is picking up steam, the publishers might take greater interest.

Right. And come to think about it, it might make sense for the
repository to be able to index styles hosted elsewhere; say on
publisher sites?
