Interesting slides Bruce! Looks good! And going by the blog aggregator you
seem to have made an impression at that conference!

I’ve been thinking some more on how I’d like my citation manager to look
like. The last version I made was way to complicated indeed. What I have now
is much simpler, although it is perhaps in some ways still to simple, but I
have a feeling this is the right way to go.

Working on that, I wondered if there is an abstract field in MODS or RDF.
And a project field? Local PDF (or PS or whichever document) field?

Yes. I probably annoyed at least some of them with my comments on
library standards though. I mentioned your reaction to the demo
schema, and how you’d thought it was much more clear than MODS.

Still, I got a lot of positive response to what I was talking about.

Yes.

And a project field? Local PDF (or PS or whichever document) field?

No to the first in MODS. In RDF you can add anything you want, which
is one of its benefits. I wonder if you could use DOAP for this?

OK, Matthias and I had gone over this in MODS. There is a location
element, but it’s not really clear how to use in this case. He was
using it for this, and I for public files.

In my RDF schema, you’d do something like:

Oh, I forgot to add:

Try title and abbreviated title, rather than title/subtitle. It’s
easier to do in a GUI, also easier to process otherwise. Also, on
names:

  1. wouldn’t those be auto-completable?

  2. how would you parse them if in that form?
