Should and be explicit in the defaults section? I know works most of the time, but sometimes and have different default formats. The same goes for , , , , etc. In that case, shouldn’t ALL bibliography/citation elements be allowed in ?

Any opinions about this?
Would help to have some practical examples of where the existing
schema is limited.

I have no practical examples now, but I am anticipating a future need. I’m interested in why these elements are not allowed in the first place. Brevity? It’s a good reason, but one that limits the extensibility of the schema.

Brevity and clarity, and the idea (which may be wrong; why I was
asking for examples) that the defaults can really only apply to
generic variables, since formatting between citations and
bibliographies tends to be so different.
I’m not religious about the decision though.
