I noticed the spacemacs project takes advantage of what seems to be some
new-ish github feature?

Anybody know anything about this, and whether it’s worthwhile for CSL?

The projects in GitHub are a new feature, see their official blog

Two remarks:

  • The projects are currently stick to exactly one repository.
  • There can be several projects for a repo, each with a board with issues
