Columbia Libraries, Mendeley Collaboration on prototype CSL editor: Public Blog/Wiki

Hi again,

I wanted to let everyone know that we’ve started a blog as part of our
collaboration in making a prototype CSL editor (which was recently posted
to the list). The blog is at http://csleditor.wordpress.com/ and we’ll be
(eventually) posting releases there. We’ve also made space for press
coverage of the project and suggestions in case you have any pressing ideas
or comments you’d like to share regarding the project. Comments made to
the xbiblio list will be taken into account in the development (along with
feedback in Mendeley’s forums and several other avenues), so there’s no
need to post to both places.

Thanks again for your great ideas in the previous round of discussion,
and I look forward to when we’ll have something concrete to share!

Good idea.

You on Google+? Might be good to setup a page there, and occasionally
share stuff via that (mirrored to twitter)?

Just to be clear, the first “something concrete” is going to be the
use cases, as outlined by Ian; right?

To quote him:

“Our first step in this project is going to be to work on these use
cases before we think about cutting code.”

I could see doing one or more blog posts on this, which could provide
opportunity for users on different apps to comment on.

Hi, yes, that’s exactly what we are working on now.

Our plan for development is to get Steve Rideout to start working on
some prototypes in early March, and we are looking at use cases now.
