We’re happy to announce that citeproc-rs is now available for testing in the Zotero beta. citeproc-rs is a new Rust-based, WebAssembly-compatible citation processor developed by @cormacrelf with support from Zotero, and we’re excited to contribute this new processor to the CSL ecosystem.
If you’d like to try it out, make sure you’re running the latest Zotero beta, and then go to the Config Editor in the Advanced pane of the preferences and toggle extensions.zotero.cite.useCiteprocRs
to true
.
Zotero’s citation functionality should generally be unchanged with citeproc-rs enabled, though citeproc-rs may be a bit less forgiving than citeproc-js about some invalid styles (which Zotero warns about when you try to install them). Please let us know in the Zotero Forums if you encounter any problems when using the new processor.
