Hello everyone
I hope you are well. I am now working on a project that necessitates a specific reference style; and I would appreciate any advice from this informed community.
The assignment entails creating a series of research papers that meet specified formatting standards. While I have a basic understanding of citation styles; I am having trouble with some of the customising steps in CSL. My goal is to create a style that not only fits the project official criteria but is also easy to use for anyone who may need it in the future.
- The author date citation format should be used for both in text citations and the reference list. I need guidance on how to align the date format with specific publication criteria.
- The project uses a wide range of sources; including books; journal papers; and online resources. I would like to guarantee that each kind is appropriately structured in accordance with the requirements., I m confused about how to structure internet resources; particularly ones without a traditional author.
- I m also interested in using conditional formatting to cater for different cases; such as when a source has numerous authors versus one. How can I do this in the CSL?
- Once i hve created the style; I want to make sure it works properly. What tools & approaches would you recommend for testing and validating the citation style so that it works across many reference managers?
Also I explored some topics related to this https://discourse.citationstyles.org/t/remove-implementation-specific-guidance-from-citationstylesalesforceadministrator but I did not get the sufficient solution of my query so I would really want to get some help from a more experienced person
If anyone has expertise with these areas of CSL or can provide any useful resources; I would be grateful. if you have any best practices or frequent traps to avoid when building a custom styl please share them.
Thank you in advance for your help
I look forward to hearing from you all.
